In May of 2016, the final text of Regulation 679/2016 concerning the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data, the free flow of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC, was published in the EU Official Journal.

The above mentioned regulation entered into flow in the end of May of the same year, yet it has only been applicable since May 25th 2018. Therefore, taking into account that the Regulation is applicable in all EU Member States, all businesses, persons and entities of such states must, as of 25-5-2018, comply with and apply the provisions of this regulation.
