Dr George Lymberopoulos, scientific director of the Spermatology Laboratory, is a Biologist-Biochemist, graduate of the University of Patras, holder of a PhD by the University of Nottingham, UK (Medical School – Department of Biochemistry). During his post-PhD specialization, he extensively worked on issues of Clinical Chemistry, Laboratory Quality Control, Neurochemistry and Reproduction Biology (In vitro fertilization - Sperm Examination and Cryopreservation). He is one of the first laboratory scientist in Clinical Embryology to apply the method of in vitro fertilization in Greece. In 1996 he founded the SPERMATOLOGY LABORATORY, of which he is the manager and scientific director until today. He is a member of international and Greek scientific associations (Alpha, Hellenic Andrology Association, Hellenic Association of Clinical Embryologists) and has participated in numerous conferences and scientific meetings as a speaker. In cooperation with the Hellenic Andrology Association, he has participated in training programs addressed to Greek and international clinical scientists regarding the assessment of male sperm.
His work as an author includes numerous articles in scientific magazines as well as the book “THE FUNCTION OF MALE SPERM” published by“BHTA medical arts”.
In recent years, he has been a scientific associate of the University of Western Attica in the Master's Program "Assisted Reproduction and Sexual Dysfunction"
Mrs Fotoula Voudouri is a Medical Laboratory Expert, graduate of the Athens University of Applied Sciences.
During her undergraduate training, she acquired knowledge and experience in issues of several laboratory departments operation (Microbiology-Virology-Mycology, Biochemichal-Hormonological, Hematological, Blood Donation-Sampling, Immunology and Pathology Laboratory). At the same time, she was trained as an observer at the Spermatology Laboratory in conventional and specialized analyzes, in male sperm processing and cryopreservation techniques.
Since 2005, she has been a member of our Laboratory, with responsibilities covering the whole range of operational processes. She participates in the Laboratory’s internal quality control program and attends post-training programs of scientific education and capacity building on an annual basis.
She participates as an external partner in the Lifelong Education courses of the University of Western Attica, in the 'Basic Spermology' program.
She is certified by ESHRE for the performance of BasicSemen Analysis.
She is a member of the Hellenic Association of Clinical Embryologists.
Mrs Emmanouela Grivaki is a Biologist, graduate of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has attended the post-graduate training program entitled “HUMAN REPRODUCTION” of the Medical School of Democritus University of Thrace.
During her undergraduate training, she worked on the study of oncological parameters, applying Molecular Biology methods. Following her graduation, she was trained as an observer at the Spermatology Laboratory in conventional and specialized analyzes, in male sperm processing and cryopreservation techniques.
Since 2005, she has been a member of our Laboratory, with responsibilities covering the whole range of operational processes. She participates in the Laboratory’s internal quality control program and attends post-training programs of scientific education and capacity building on an annual basis.

Ms Zoi Gkizarioti is a Biologist, with a Bsc in the Department of Biology in the University of Patras, and a postgraduate student, specialist in Molecular and Applied Physiology. Her thesis was titled: “Sperm preparation methods for clinical proposes in assisted reproduction”.
After completing her studies, she has been training in the Spermatology Laboratory in the field of both conventional and specialized analysis and processing techniques of the sperm, while attending seminars in Clinical Andrology organized by the Department of Medicine.
Since 2021, she has been a member of our Laboratory, with responsibilities covering the whole range of operational processes. She participates in the Laboratory’s internal quality control program and attends post-training programs of scientific education and capacity building on an annual basis.
She is certified by ESHRE for the performance of BasicSemen Analysis.
Ms Ioanna Louka is a Biologist, graduate of the Department of Biology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, holder of a Master’s degree in “Research in Female Reproduction from the department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
After completing her studies, she was trained in the Spermatology Laboratory in both conventional and specialized techniques of semen analysis, while attending the postgraduate program “Advanced Course in Clinical Embryology, awarded by Medical School of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Her work has been published in scientific journals such as Frontiers in Endocrinology.
Since 2021, she has been a member of our Laboratory, with responsibilities covering the whole range of operational processes. She participates in the Laboratory’s internal quality control program and attends post-training programs of scientific education and capacity building on an annual basis.
Μs Paraskevi Xystra is a Biologist, graduate of the Department of Biology of the University of Crete. She holds a Master's degree in "Research in Female Reproduction" from the Department of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Her thesis was titled: "Investigating the effect of sperm preparation techniques and of insemination methods on embryo developmental arrest: a systematic review and network meta-analysis.” After obtaining her degree, she was trained in the spermatology laboratory in both conventional and specialized techniques of semen analysis. Her work has been presented at national conferences and published in scientific journals. Since June 2023, she has been a member of our Laboratory, with responsibilities covering a whole range of operational processes. She participates in the Laboratory's internal quality control program and attends post-training programs of scientific education and capacity building on an annual basis. She is certified by ESHRE for the performance of Basic Semen Analysis. She is a member of the Hellenic Society of Clinical Embryology and Human Reproductive Biology.
Ms Evangelia Titaki is a Biologist, with a Bsc in the Department of Biology of the University of Crete, and a postgraduate student, specialized in Reproductive-Regenerative Medicine from the Department of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. After completing her studies, she has been training in the Spermatology Laboratory in the field of both conventional and specialized analysis and processing techniques of the sperm. Since 2024, she has been a member of our Laboratory, with responsibilities covering the whole range of operational processes. She participates in the Laboratory’s internal quality control program and attends post-training programs of scientific education and capacity building on an annual basis.
